The students of design major know well that the concept has very important role in the design making processes.
In this study we found that, for pulling out the concept, they use some ideas produced in the procedural works already made by the three stage of acknowledging the problem, collecting the data, analyzing.
This study tried to offer a directive plan for the design concept training which would give some effects on the training by rethinking ideas pulling processes.
Prepared initially a survey on general opinion on the importance of concept making among the university students in the major; data collecting methods, aspects on its effectiveness and values. A visual and language training test has also applied for the result deducing what the most good method was.
Most of students have pull their idea from visual materials, even the stage of collecting. They appreciated the visual data as most effective but did not put their faith in intuition.
Validity of design is more important for the students than any other. More research is needed to this problem.
